Patriotism: is global peace possible?
Elephant and ant, both can be dangerous to each other.
Can only super power maintain peace? It can give visible and believable assurance to not attack anyone unless being provoked. But what will guarantee that they will not become offensive because of some misunderstanding, or business, or dominance attitude or change in government or false provocation or because of degradation of wisdom of their citizens?
Yes, nothing can guarantee peace unless humans develop wisdom and a sense of humanity. Of course, everyone knows an elephant is a mighty animal. Then, how can an ant become a threat to an elephant? If an ant goes into the trunk of an elephant, it can kill the elephant, and not only that, it can give a painful death to an elephant. It means you cannot underestimate anyone.
Then how will the small countries contribute to the peace? Again, the only solution as of now is, by gaining wisdom. If powerful countries attack the small or less powerful countries, then can the wise people of a small country defend themselves without the necessary defense and readiness? They may not be able to defend themselves without the loss of human lives. History says, many ambitious, cruel, aggressive people have harmed the peace-loving people. In this human world, peace can be achieved when everyone is peaceful. Then how will the global peace be attained?
It’s a chicken and egg problem. Instead of focusing on who is the first or who has to be the first, we have to accept the existence of both chicken and egg at the same time. It means both strong and weak countries or the entire human world have to learn the lessons of wisdom, humanity, life philosophy, collaboration, coordination, meaning of mortality at the same time. If one country is learning the lessons of peace and another country is learning the lessons of violence or destruction, then global peace cannot be achieved.
Who can start this training? United nations can start this initiative. There should be cross-country, cross-cultural, cross-philosophy training and positive knowledge sharing. This can happen in the high school, under graduate and post graduation level. There can be training for the people in decision making positions. Peace keeping force should maintain the peace. Foundation of peace should be built by the training.
Without the education of humanity, life and death, family values, love and respect towards every human, global peace will never be possible even after another thousand years, provided humans have not destroyed themselves by that time because of their ignorance and arrogance.
People are afraid if there is humanity and peace in the entire world, then earth will become heaven. In that case, why do people have a problem with that? Why do people believe that ideal things are not possible?
If you want to dig a lake, you can dig a lake. If you want to fill a lake, you can fill a lake. If you want to spoil the planet earth and you want to use all your strength to destroy it, then you may become successful one day. Both destruction and constructions demand action. Any way some day, every living being will die, then why do you have to expedite the process of death?
If you want to live peacefully and enjoy your limited time on earth, then definitely you can achieve it. “You’ means, I am referring to “everyone”. Because we humans are sharing this earth with each other. Even if a single person spoils anything on this earth, they are starting the process of destruction.
Sometimes some people get into the illusion of the most powerful or the most influential or the most beautiful or the most cruel person on earth. If they are thinking like this, then they are the most ignorant person on this earth. Human life is like a water bubble. No one can assure the life of that bubble. No one should feel so arrogant to destroy everything which he or she cannot create, whereas he or she does not have the control over his or her own life. Some people say it’s too much philosophical. Yes, it is philosophical, and this is needed to for the decision-making process, especially the decisions which can affect the millions of people.
This is applicable everywhere. It applies to family, village, schools, colleges, universities, government organisations, private organisations, non-profit organisation, government, opposition, religion, communities, states, kingdom, countries, United nations. Think and act immediately before it is too late. Only poverty eradication program cannot make a great human society, hunger for power should also be eradicated by learning the lesson of humanity and life philosophy.
